Fraction Calculator

Add, subtract, multiply, divide and simplify exact fractions, with mixed-number results and explicit decimal rounding.

Your inputs stay in your browser.

Exact BigInt fractions: each integer field accepts up to 100 ASCII digits; intermediate/results up to 500. Sign applies to the whole operand. Format conversion requires a valid draft. Decimal rounding: 0-12 places, half away from zero. Drafts stay in memory only; refreshing clears them. Processing and exports stay local.

How to use Fraction Calculator

Choose an operation, enter unsigned magnitudes and apply each operand's Negative checkbox if needed. Use denominator 1 for integers. Convert a valid operand between fraction and mixed entry without changing its value. Swap preserves both operands and their signs. Simplify ignores the second operand.

Worked example

1/2 + 1/3 = 5/6. 2/3 × 9/4 = 3/2 = 1 1/2. A negative mixed 1 1/2 means -(1 + 1/2) = -3/2.

Rules and limits

ASCII whole-number fields up to 100 digits; denominator must be positive and a mixed fractional numerator must be less than its denominator. Exact results and intermediates are capped at 500 digits. Decimals use 0-12 places, half away from zero, and are labelled approximate when rounded. This is not a symbolic algebra or repeating-decimal engine.
