JSON Path Extractor

Extract one exact value from strict JSON with explicit key and index segments. This is a local, typed-path utility, not a full JSONPath query engine.

Extract one strict JSON value locally. Use explicit object-key and array-index segments; this is not a full JSONPath engine. Refreshing clears this in-memory draft.

JSON input

0 bytes of 2 MiB maximum. Strict JSON only.

Key/index path

Empty path selects the root. Keys are exact strings (including an empty key); indexes are canonical nonnegative integers.

Breadcrumb: root

How to extract a JSON value

  1. Paste strict JSON or choose a UTF-8 JSON file.
  2. Add key and array-index segments in order. An empty segment list selects the root value.
  3. Extract the value, then copy or download extracted.json. Null is a valid selected value, not a missing result.

Worked example

For {"users":[{"name":"Ada"}]}, add key users, index 0, then key name. The output is the JSON string "Ada".

Path rules and limits

Keys are exact, case-sensitive strings, including empty strings and names with dots or brackets. Indices are nonnegative canonical integers. Wildcards, filters, recursive search, expressions and code evaluation are not supported. Strict JSON rejects comments and duplicate keys; the selected JSON preserves numeric source tokens.
