Number Base Converter

Convert signed integers exactly between bases 2-36, with binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal views.

Your inputs stay in your browser.

Signed integers only; 4096 digit characters maximum. Bases 2-36 include binary 2, octal 8, decimal 10 and hexadecimal 16. Prefixes 0b/0o/0x apply only in matching selected bases. Invalid drafts remain unchanged on Swap. Drafts stay in memory only; refreshing clears them. Processing and exports stay local.

How to use Number Base Converter

Enter the integer and explicit source and target bases. Common bases are 2, 8, 10 and 16. Choose uppercase and optional visual grouping. Per-base copy defaults to raw digits. Swap uses the ungrouped exact target value as the new source; invalid drafts remain unchanged.

Worked example

Decimal 255 is binary 11111111, octal 377 and hexadecimal FF. Decimal 9007199254740993 stays exact beyond JavaScript Number precision.

Rules and limits

Up to 4096 digit characters after sign/prefix; up to 25,000 characters per representation. Matching 0b/0o/0x prefixes are accepted only in selected bases 2/8/16. In base 16, 0b10 is ordinary hexadecimal (2832 decimal), not binary. No grouping in input, fractional numbers, implicit wrapping or two's-complement interpretation.
