Ratio Calculator
Simplify exact decimal ratios, divide totals with explicit rounding or whole-item rules, and solve one unknown proportion.
Your inputs stay in your browser.Ratio magnitudes are non-negative; proportions may be signed. Use at most 18 whole and 6 fractional digits, with dot or comma and no grouping. Whole-item ties favor A. Drafts stay in memory only; refreshing clears them. Processing and exports stay local.

How to use Ratio Calculator
Choose Simplify A:B, Divide a total, or Solve A/B=C/D. In proportion mode explicitly choose the unknown; the other three terms must be entered. For whole-item allocation, the total must be an integer. Review exact fractions alongside rounded amounts.
Worked example
1.5:2.5 simplifies to 3:5, with shares 37.5% and 62.5%. Divide 80 in 3:5 to obtain 30 and 50. Five whole items in 1:1 become 3 and 2.
Rules and limits
At most 18 whole and 6 fractional digits; dot or comma, no grouping/exponents. Ratio magnitudes are nonnegative and not both zero. Proportions may be signed; B and D may never be zero. The tool distinguishes unique, absent and infinite solutions. Independent decimal rounding may not sum to the displayed total; whole-item largest-remainder ties favor A. No currency-specific cent rule.
